Laura Lee was born on Nov. 26, 1986 in Bakersfield, California. As a young girl she was greatly influenced by her family's passion for the arts. Her grandmother was an avid oil painter and encouraged Laura to practice her artistic abilities- beginning piano lessons at the age of 9, and filling time after school with pencil sketches and piano music. After graduation Laura taught private music lessons while earning her Associates and C.P. in Business Administration from Cuesta and Bakersfield Colleges. She later completed her B.A. in Music Education from CSU Bakersfield under Dr. Soo Yeon Chang. After several years of studying music Laura was inspired to return to her painting in 2016. Since then she has completed several commission works- including land/seascapes, family and pet portraits. In October 2018 Laura participated in her first art exhibition through the Bubble Pop Art Gallery's, "Spooktacular" show. In 2019 her acrylic work, "Hope," was selected for the Bakersfield Museum of Art's "Sublime" Visual Arts Festival, and "Happy" for their annual Via Arte Chalk Festival. In January 2020 Laura hosted her first solo art exhibition, titled "Expressions" through the Bakersfield Art Association that included over a dozen of her watercolor pencil portraits. Since 2019 Laura has been an exhibiting Artist/Art Instructor at the Bakersfield Art Association where she is currently the Committee's Class Coordinator
