I was born in South Korea and lived there for 40 years. I worked as a speech pathologist and a special education teacher. After I moved to the U. S., I earned my master’s degree in special education. I am currently working at the Arvin Union School District.
Art has been my favorite way of spending time as long as I can remember. When I was a child, I got in trouble several times for drawing in class. I wanted to major in art, but I had to choose a more practical profession. However, my love for art has not dwindled.
I started oil painting around 2011 and entered my paintings to the Kern Fair in 2013. I was awarded two consecutive years and that encouraged me to continue painting. I am self-taught and want to convey my feelings in my paintings. I love expressing the inner beauty of a person when I do portraits. I also enjoy sharing the beauty of the environment in my landscape paintings. I continue to strive toward improvement with my paintings.
