My Ruth Saylor, also known as R. M. Aylor's will be the featured artist at Dagney Coffee Shop for the month of July.
Ruth got her love of art from her mother at an early age when her parents bought her many a paint-by-number set. Later her mother got her interested in watercolors.
In high school, Ruth painted the backdrop for a play performance. Not until her senior year in high school, did she really start taking the time to enjoy and learn art techniques from her art teacher, Mrs. Rasmussen. Ruth learned new teaching techniques of art, at California State University, Bakersfield for teaching children.
In 2017, a major surgery caused a set-back. So, Ruth took up painting illustrations for children's books that she wrote. This became her passion!
After returning to work, and the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it wasn't until 2022 did she start working on artwork, again. In 2022, she began to recycle aluminum cans and make art designs. These were exhibited at the Kern County Fair, that won her several blue ribbons. Because of this artwork, she began hanging her artwork at the Bakersfield Art Association.
Beside the Bakersfield Art Association, Ruth is a member of Fine Art America with paintings and mixed media. She started an Art Gallery on Facebook, called R. M. Aylor's Art Gallery.
Ruth Saylor states that painting, "it's a passion that requires patience and love of what you are painting."
