"SHOWING at DAGNY's COFFEE SHOP" 20th and Eye St.

VICKI MEADOWS

The Bakersfield Art Association presents a satellite exhibition at Dagny's Coffee 1600 20th St. featuring Vicki Meadows's artwork throughout July.

Vicki Meadows, “Something Old, Something New” is the featured artist at Dagny’s for July. She has been drawing as far back as she can remember. A pencil and pad with her always.

But life got busy with family and friends and art took a backseat. She always kept creative with homemade Halloween costumes, painting nursery walls, cardboard wearable cars….you name it. But it wasn’t until kids, and grandkids were grownup that she decided to give painting another try after a 40 years break.

She was asked to donate a painting to the Michael J Fox Parkinson Foundation, and thought she would give it a try.

That was 6 years ago and she has never looked back.

She has done paintings of people, homes, cars, pets, landscapes, still life, and even airplanes for clients. She loves the challenge of putting something she sees into a memory to keep.

Vicki's work also hangs at the Bakersfield Art Association gallery , viewable from Wednesday through Sunday at 1607 19th Street, Bakersfield, CA 93301.
