Bakersfield Art Association is happy to announce that watercolor artist Marilyn J. Smith will be the featured artist for the month of September
A full display of her works will fill the walls with human portraits, dogs, featured buildings from Bakersfield's past, and scenic views.
Marilyn's specialty is human faces. She is accepting commissions to paint your favorite people. If that interests you, be sure to come to Dagney's this September to check out her style.
Marilyn also has portraits on display at the Bakersfield Art Center located at 1607 19th Street, Bakersfield, CA.
On November 23, Marilyn J. Smith will be teaching a watercolor workshop, "Watercolor Portraits 2" at the Bakersfield Art Center .
Students will learn how to layer paints to get glowing skin and sparkling eyes. Students will leave this class with a finished portrait. People do not need to have been in the first watercolor portraits class. Students should have a basic knowledge of watercolor paints and be comfortable using a brush.
