The Bakersfield Art Association presents a satellite exhibition at Dagny's Coffee 1600 20th St. featuring Wendy Johnson 's artwork throughout August.
Wendy Johnson, a muralist and artist born and raised in Bakersfield, California, creates work deeply inspired by the natural beauty of the Central Valley. Her murals often reflect the region’s native plants, wildlife, and landscapes, blending vibrant color with organic forms to bring the outdoors into public spaces.
Her recent public art projects, including large-scale murals for CalTrans and the City of Bakersfield, were made possible through grant support from the Arts Council of Kern, the California Arts Council, California State Parks, and Parks California. These projects aim to transform everyday environments with uplifting, nature-based imagery.
Wendy’s work has been exhibited at Bird Dog Arts and the Bakersfield Art Association, and she is an active member of the Arts Council of Kern, contributing to the growth of the local arts community. Through her art, Wendy aims to create spaces that inspire reflection, connection, and a renewed appreciation for the land we call home.
Wendy's art work also hangs at the Bakersfield Art Association gallery , viewable from Wednesday through Sunday at 1607 19th Street, Bakersfield, CA 93301.
