This inspiring showcase features a diverse collection of student artwork from Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Art classes, all created under the guidance of instructor Alyssa Ramos. The exhibition highlights a wide range of styles, techniques, and personal expression, reflecting the dedication and artistic growth of these emerging artists.

The annual Youth Art Month (YAM) exhibition will be held again at the Bakersfield Art Association for the month of May.
The show is Sponsored by the California Art Education Association which recognizes the accomplishments of art education in schools K-12.
Youth Art Month has a long history beginning in 1961 when the Art & Creative Materials Institute (ACMI) created Children’s Art Month as an event to emphasize the value to children from participating in visual art education. In 1969 the celebration expanded to include secondary school students. The Children’s Art Month event officially became known as Youth Art Month.
This year the local exhibition will feature student artwork from area high schools.
Students receiving awards from the local show will advance to state judging and state winners will be recognized at the annual conference for the National Art Education Association.
