Drawing in ink has always been a passion of Jim's. His interest in architecture is reflected in his works and these drawings of images around Bakersfield reflect this interest. Buildings and structures reflecting the community and surrounding oilfields have always caught his eye. The play of light hitting these architectural buildings and oilfield objects has drawn him to represent them two dimensionally. He enjoys trying to represent three dimensional objects in two dimensions with just pen and ink. It is his hope that he has represented our community and surrounding area appropriately and that these images reflect well on our town of Bakersfield.
