SHOWING AT DAGNY'S COFFEE SHOP FOR JANUARY
Kathy Shilling will be featured artist at Dagney's Coffee Shop (1600 20th Street, Bakersfield) in the months of January and February.
She will be showing a collection of her silk paintings using mixed media on silk fabric.
Kathy has been a long-time member of the Bakersfield Art Association since 1987 and is now a lifetime member.
She proudly owns and operates Schilling Art Studio, which is a local art studio that teaches children and adults starting from age six and up. She has been perfecting her craft of silk painting for twenty-five years and continues to do so while teaching her pupils.
Her love of silk painting came about in her early forties when her mother bought her a silk painting kit with a scarf and a few paints, she did end up falling in love with medium and continues to make silk painting one of her primary painting methods.
