MARTIN VARGA

BIO

Martin Varga spends a majority of his free time as a creative art photographer in Kern County, California and has been developing his photographic art technique since 2013. He and his wife of thirty two years love spending time traveling to different art shows along with their three grown children, spouses and grandchildren.

One of Martin’s primary creative techniques utilizes high speed photography to capture unique shapes, colors and textures created from colliding colored waterdrops traveling at high speed. He draws upon his love for nature, liquids, engineering and science to design his artistic concepts in studio. These miniature worlds created by this innovative process requires numerous hours to prepare and are not always easy to see in real time. A sign he has achieved success is when he is frequently asked, “How did you create that image?”

He is a registered Civil Engineer and works for the Kern County Water Agency as the Engineering and Groundwater Services Manager. He studied photography and digital arts at Bakersfield College and is a member of the Bakersfield Art Association where he displays monthly themed photo art projects which include fluid dynamic, macro and portrait photography. His award-winning photography has been published through Bakersfield Magazine, Bakersfield Lifestyle Magazine, Getty Images, The Bakersfield Californian, Kern Business Journal, Water Association of Kern County and a number of other business and trade publications.
