Micki Schulz began her artistic journey at the age of 60, embracing creativity as an exciting new chapter in her life. She has studied with numerous local instructors and has traveled across the United States to participate in week-long workshops with accomplished artists, continually expanding her skills and artistic voice.
Micki enjoys working in a wide range of mediums and techniques, including watercolor, oils, pastels, scratch art, multimedia, colored pencil, encaustics, collage, marbling, resin, and especially silk painting. She affectionately refers to her practice as her “creative exploration,” approaching each new medium with curiosity and joy.
Micki lives in Bakersfield, California with her husband, Jeff, her greatest supporter. She feels deeply blessed to have her children and grandchildren nearby, filling her life with family, love, and inspiration.
