Norma Neil

bio

Neil considers herself a life long artist and enjoys painting as well as teaching others to develop their own artistic voice.
She has worked in many art mediums including oils and soft pastels ,but  she keeps coming back to watercolors which she feels offer the greatest challenges and rewards. “It’s  a medium that has a mind of its own, but once you learn to let the watercolor speak ,the magic of watercolor happens.”

Neil holds lifetime teaching  credentials in both elementary education  and secondary art. Though “retired” from public school teaching she finds working with mature adults very rewarding and offers mentoring and directed art retreats themed round exploring natural elements. She also enjoys volunteering as an  artist with Art for Healing.
Neil has studied with several well established watercolor artists, to further develop  as an artist.
Another passion is travel where she always includes a small plein air  watercolors set  and sketch journal.
