Born in New York, Roline Loung has always had an interest in animals. Whenever the family toured museums, she gravitated towards any works with animals. When she learned needlepoint, cross stitch, ratting and Sculpey modeling, her subjects were usually animals. Her stained glass was usually animals also. When she took up sketching in 2013, animals predominated. Now that she is exploring painting in oil, watercolor, silk and pastel, animals are often the subjects. But sunsets and seascapes also beckon now. The colors are compelling and the memories of places visited satisfy in these pandemic times. Her three daughters and husband often send her photos they have taken so her painting is a family affair
