After a career as a nurse, nursing home administrator and home health staff coordinator I usually spent my free time painting. Most of this work I gave away to family and friends.
I joined the BAA in 1997 when I owned Affordable Framing here in Bakersfield and did some painting but was usually too busy. Working with artists to help them make the best presentation of their art was very gratifying.
After selling the frame shop I had more time to enjoy painting . I am an instructor at the Art Center teaching beginning acrylic painting. Most of my work is simple and colorful due to limited vision. I still enjoy being creative and will try different techniques like pallet knife and single brush. I show art at the Art Center and some satellite galleries.
